Thomas Merton Center —
A activist resource center for a variety of projects they are located at 5125 Penn Ave in Garfield. The TMC is a membership organization of over 700, "people from diverse philosophies and faiths who find common ground in the nonviolent struggle to bring about a more peaceful and just society by instilling a consciousness of values and raising the moral questions involved in the issues of war, poverty, racism, and oppression."

Free Ride —
Free Ride! is a non-profit recycle-a-bike shop that enables people of all ages to obtain, recycle, and maintain bicycles. Through educating people on how to recondition used, donated bicycles, Free Ride is putting forgotten bikes back on the streets in a reliable, safe condition. Free Ride aims to enhance the health of our community and environment by promoting active living and encouraging bicycle transportation.

Critical Mass —
Critical Mass is a monthly celebration, which brings attention to alternative forms of transportation. They meet the last Friday of every month by the Carnegie Museum dinosaur in Oakland at 5.30 pm. By taking to the streets in a mass of bicycle riders, they hope to remind people that bikes are an efficient means of transport, and that bikers deserve a place on the roads.

Fight for Lifers —
Fight for Lifers is a prisoner support program, advocating for inmates and providing emotional support to their members who include mothers, wives, fathers, brothers, sisters and friends of lifers. The group meets monthly. To get involved, call 412-361-3022 and leave a message.

Fed-Up —
FedUp! is the Pittsburgh chapter of the Human Rights Coalition dedicated to upholding the rights of prisoners through providing resources and support, exposing injustices, and building relationships with people in prison and their advocates. We are a organization of concerned citizens, people in prison and their loved ones. Our focus is on high level security facilities in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
