.::Steel City Revolt::.Steel City Revolt Mission Statement “Steel City Revolt” is a quarterly publication of the Pittsburgh Organizing Group (POG). Its purpose is to act as an organizing and communication tool for POG members and supporters while helping to build the local anarchist movement. We publish anarchist-related articles on events, theory, history, analysis and culture deemed of interest to our members, supporters and readers. While space preference goes to POG members and supporters, we will review and accept, on a case-by-case basis, outside submissions. Brief reports should fall between 200-800 words. Articles and notices about upcoming events should be approximately 200-500 words. Feature stories and commentary should not exceed 1,500 words. Explicitly anarchist-themed art, poetry and book/music reviews are also accepted. Letters to the Editor should be between 200-500 words. Event listings should include title, date, time, location and contact information. All material should be directed toward an anarchist audience. Non-copyrighted photos or artwork with your submission are encouraged. “Steel City Revolt” is published four times per year, on the fifteenth of every January, April, July and October. The deadline for submissions is the first day of the month of each publication cycle (for example, October 1 would be the deadline for the Fall issue, published on October 15). We are unable to offer financial (or any other) compensation for submission. Articles, letters and event listings can be e-mailed to pog@mutualaid.org (please note “SCR submission” in the Subject line) or mailed to Pittsburgh Organizing Group (c/o Thomas Merton Center, 5125 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224). However, we strongly encourage you to send them electronically so we do not have to retype them. Pittsburgh Organizing Group is an anarchist group based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, since 2002. Our goal is the creation of a directly democratic, free society capable of maximizing human potential and freedom within a framework of collective responsibility, mutual-aid and solidarity.
